South Texas Ascent is a girls' fastpitch softball program based in Boerne, TX and serving the greater San Antonio area, founded on a simple belief: every athlete deserves real coaching, real reps, and a team that feels like family. We're building from the ground up with our founding 10U class — teaching the game the right way and growing alongside our players as they rise.
We measure a season by how much each girl grows — in skill and in confidence — not just by the trophy count.
Ascent is about effort. We teach our athletes that hard work, repetition, and coachability are what move you up.
Teammates pick each other up. We build a culture where every player belongs and no one climbs alone.
We wear the Lone Star with pride and carry ourselves with class on and off the field.
Structured hitting, fielding, and pitching reps every week — not just tournament weekends.
One roster, real playing time. Every athlete gets coached, not benched.
As this class rises, so do we — 12U and beyond will open in future seasons.
Our founding fastpitch team — developing fundamentals and a love of the game.
Building character, discipline, and excellence on and off the field.
Our girls will give max effort and push themselves out of their comfort zones. We run everywhere we go. We do not walk, we do not sit.
You are to pick up your teammates when they fail. You celebrate together as a team. You grab each other's gloves and masks as you run out onto the field.
We have all of our equipment for practices and games. We wear pants, socks, belt, and cleats/turfs every practice (unless noted prior to practice).
We show respect to our parents, coaches, teammates, opponents and umpires.
Pick up all trash and equipment after games and practices — leave it better than it was before we got there.
Having fun will always be a priority. Meeting the expectations above will result in us having fun.
For practices we expect our athletes to arrive 10 minutes earlier than scheduled time. For games we expect athletes to arrive 45 minutes earlier than scheduled time.
We show respect to our coaches, umpires and opponents' coaches.
Please do not coach from the stands during games, but please do be a positive light for them when they look up at you. Encourage them to be great. If you want to help out — help out in practices.
